After completing his hit manga last year, Golden Kamuy creator Satoru Noda is set to begin his new hockey manga this July, and it will once again serialize in Weekly Young Jump.

Noda’s new manga has the working title Supinamarada!, which refers to his first serialized work on Young Jump.

But it’s not clear yet how this upcoming series will be connected to his previous work.

What we know for certain is that it will begin serialization next month, and it will be all about ice hockey.

Satoru Noda has been active in the manga industry since the 2000s, though he gained renown in the mid-2010s with his popular work, Golden Kamuy.

This series stood out thanks to its interesting setting, as its story takes place in Hokkaido in the early 20th century.

It’s also unique for being one of the few manga to incorporate the native Hokkaido Ainu in its story.

Golden Kamuy ended back in April 2022, though in its 8-year run, the series has become a huge hit with over 24 million copies in circulation.

While the manga has ended, the anime adaptation continues, with Season 4 finally coming back earlier in May.

Originally, Season 4 was scheduled to air in Fall 2022. Sadly, one of the show’s key staff members passed away in the middle of production. Because of this, it was decided that the anime will be delayed.

Finally, Season 4 returned to broadcast with its seventh episode, which was released on May 15, 2023.

Satoru Noda to Begin New Hockey Manga in Weekly Young Jump

As for Noda’s new work, the upcoming hockey manga from the Golden Kamuy creator will begin serialization on July 27, and it was announced in the latest Young Jump magazine issue.

This manga marks Noda’s third serialized work in Weekly Young Jump, the seinen magazine that also publishes other popular titles like Kingdom and Oshi no Ko.

As previously mentioned, this new manga is tentatively titled Supinamarada!, the same title as his first serialized work. Though it’s not clear yet if this is a remake, a sequel, or something else entirely.

For now, there’s no word yet on whether this manga will be released outside Japan.

But considering that Golden Kamuy was also released by Viz on the Shonen Jump app, there’s a chance that Noda’s next work will get an international release as well.
