Godzilla: King of the Monsters Gets Graphic Novel Prequel

Fans are looking forward to the sequel of the Godzilla movie that came out a few years ago, as the first one was a pleasant surprise no one expected. With an eventual showdown with King Kong planned, it's clear that Legendary is all in for this monster-sized crossover coming to the cinemas soon. To hype up the second movie, Legendary is going to release a graphic novel prequel set after the first movie but before the second.

Called Godzilla: Aftershock, the graphic novel is going to be canon with the movies and will have the King of Monsters take on a new threat that will be coming "from the depths of the Earth." Seeing Legendary use a monster fight on a comic book rather than the big screen is an interesting move since most of us figured that they would want all of the monster fights in the movies.

While it won't reveal too many plot points that will be appearing in the sequel, there might be some clues about Millie Brown's character, who may or may not be able to talk with all of the film's monsters. Rumors are saying that she will be one of Mothra's fairies, who have an odd connection to both the human world and the monster one. Only time will tell if this is true.

Godzilla: Aftershock becomes available online and in stores in Spring 2019. Godzilla: King of the Monsters comes out on May 31, 2019.
