Gods' Game We Play is a fantasy anime based on a light novel by Kei Sazane with illustrations by Toiro Tomose.
In 2021, it was turned into a manga series by the same author and illustrated by Kapiko Toriumi.
It's serialized by Media Factory and marketed as seinen.
The premise of Gods' Game We Play is simple. The gods who reign supreme are bored and have too much free time, so they introduce a series of mind games known as Play of Gods.
Humans who receive the god-given power Arise must participate and if they achieve ten victories they will be granted any wish.
But the gods are cruel and unreasonable, so a victory is impossible. At least everyone thinks so until former goddess Leche awakens and declares her intention to bring forth the era's best gamer.
Fay, a genius gamer who has achieved three victories so far, is up for the challenge.

Tatsuya Shiraishi, the anime's director has previously worked on Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica Movie 3: Hangyaku no Monogatari.
Other works of Shiraishi include the key animation or episode direction of works such as Deadman Wonderland and Highschool of the Dead.
From this, it becomes clear that Shiraishi is no stranger to anime that features unforgiving challenges. The direction will hopefully make Gods' Game We Play a suspenseful and tense watch.
