God of War: Ragnarok Officially Teased for 2021

The PlayStation 5 showcase came with many fantastic reveals, and one of them was for the much awaited sequel for God of War (2018). Though it doesn't have any gameplay footage, the new teaser for God of War: Ragnarok will still get you pumped.

The only image we see is that of the blue "Omega" symbol that God of War is known for, and we have Kratos saying, "The time draws near. You must prepare yourself," ending it all with the tagline, "Ragnarok is coming."

While this may seem like a small teaser, it does confirm a bunch of other things we haven't known about the sequel yet. In the first game, it's teased that Kratos might be tackling other mythologies in future games like Chinese and Egyptian mythology, so the confirmation of the title Ragnarok kind of confirms that we're going to stay on the Norse realm for now.

[SPOILERS] If anything, we're going to be dealing with the true identity of Atreus which is that of Loki a.k.a. The God of Mischief who will bring about Ragnarok. With Kratos being a denier of destiny though, it's likely he will try his best to make sure the prophecy doesn't come to pass [END SPOILERS]

I'm just hoping they don't pull another Last of Us storyline where Kratos dies and you have to play as Atreus moving forward. I mean, it does seem like a natural progression, but it's been done before, and I want something the fans won't see coming.

Catch God of War: Ragnarok when it comes to the PS5 sometime in 2021.
