GLOW’s Marc Maron In Talks To Join Joker Origin Movie

The gears for Todd Philipp's upcoming Joker origin movie starring Joaquin Phoenix is finally turning, and it looks like Warner Brothers has been busy looking for actors and actresses to add to The Joker's cast.

One of the actors that the studio is currently eyeing is GLOW's Marc Maron. The comedian and actor is currently available while waiting for the Emmy-nominated series to return with its third season on Netflix, and according to Variety, sources say that Maron is currently in talks to join the cast of The Joker origin movie by Phillips. If the deal is made, Maron will be joining Phoenix and the previously announced cast members Frances Conroy and Robert De Niro.

Though there hasn't been any confirmation yet, sources say that Maron will be playing the part of an agent who helps book Phoenix's character on De Niro's show, becoming part of the reason why the Joker eventually turns mad and becomes the Clown Prince of Crime in the movie.

Though Maron doesn't have the biggest role in the film, it's definitely exciting to see the actor working on a deal with Warner Brothers to appear in the movie. Maron did a stellar job playing the cynical director Sam Sylvia in GLOW, earning great reviews from fans and critics. We can't wait to see how Maron's going to fare in The Joker.

The Joker releases October 4, 2019.
