Girls’ Generation member Tiffany Young has officially joined the roster of actresses in the group as she starred in her first-ever K-drama stint in JTBC’s Reborn Rich.
In the third episode of the fantasy drama, which aired on November 20th, Young appeared in the role of Rachel, the assistant of Jin Do Joon (Song Joong Ki).
Coming with the SNSD member’s appearance, Reborn Rich received its highest rating to date, as well as its first double-digit rating, with a viewership of 10.82% and 11.713%, nationwide and locally, respectively.
Adding acting to the list of her talents, the singer-dancer has flaunted her daunting English skills and confident IT girl attitude as she portrayed Rachel in the latest episode.
The third episode sees Song Joong Ki's character assume as the top performer at the Seoul National University’s law school while following his father's ((Kim Young Jae) footsteps to run a film company in the New York Film Market.
Jin Do Joon encouraged his father not only to distribute "Titanic," but also to fund and participate in its production, believing that the film would be a worldwide success.
Given the recent event, Jin Do Joon’s partner, Oh Se Hyun (Park Hyuk Kwon), visited the New York Film Market with his right-hand assistant, Rachel. Oh Se Hyun decided to invest 10 million USD into which Rachel asked in disbelief, "Ten million dollars?" I’d rather throw the money on the floor. And DiCaprio? Who is that guy doing the acting? Can a blockbuster without a single star actor really succeed?"
Reborn Rich's director, Jeong Dae Yoon, praised Young’s acting, saying, "I liked the serious yet comical acting of Tiffany Young, a rookie actor who gets entangled with actor Song Joong Ki."
The appearance of the Girls’ Generation member has gathered numerous positive comments, as most are happy to see the performer express herself through acting while expanding her horizons as an artist.
Young’s character has been dubbed "the miracle analyst" because she sees all things in the world as objects of investment, likes to set values and prices, and is a person with cool judgment.
The SNSD member was last seen in Korea’s Chicago: The Musical and during her group comeback for Forever 1 in August.
Reborn Rich airs Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on JTBC and ViuTV.
