Ernie Hudson has Not Been Approached to Appear in Ghostbusters 2020... Yet

A lot of people are excited to see the return to the original Ghostbusters world in 2020, and it's been said that the original busters from the first movie are all making an appearance. As it turns out, Ernie Hudson has yet to be approached for a cameo.

Talking to The Johnny Dare Morning Show (via ComicBook), Hudson explains:

"I don't know. Nobody has approached me with a contract. I think the Ghostbusters fans have been wanting [a "passing of the torch"] dynamic to happen, so I know whatever happens is going to be in that tradition… I'm excited about that. I'd be more excited if they called me and offered me a job, but no matter what happens the fact that they're doing it is really cool."

No doubt the movie is still early in the production and may probably approach Hudson in a later date. I have no doubts that he's going to be able to appear though. If all the original (living) Ghostbusters can make an appearance in the reboot, I have no doubt they can return in a faithful sequel.

We don't know what the story for this film is yet, but I have a feeling that the movie is going to be making use of a pitch that Max Landis (Bright) had put up on the internet a few years ago. The post has since been taken down, leading me to believe that it may have something to do with the upcoming movie. I'm not going to go into detail about it, but I thought it was very well thought out and made perfect use of the original characters and introduced some new young ones as well. It even played on Bill Murray's reluctance to return to the franchise.

Ghostbusters 3 is set to come out sometime in 2020.
