George RR Martin Says The Winds Of Winter Before Jets Or Giants Win Super Bowl

Are you ready for another update on the ongoing wait for The Winds of Winter? It looks like George R.R. Martin is still hard at work on Book 6 of A Song of Ice and Fire. However, the author also claims that there's a good chance that he'll be done with it before a New York football team wins the Super Bowl.

TMZ recently found Martin and decided to ask him when The Winds of Winter will be released. The Game of Thrones creator, who happens to be a huge football fan, declared that the book will be out before either the New York Giants or the New York Jets become the Super Bowl champions.

Of course, that still doesn't give us much hope. Nevertheless, it does sound like ASOIAF will be done within the next few years. On the other hand, the Giants or the Jets might surprise us next year. Hopefully, Martin would already be done with The Winds of Winter by then.

There have been previous speculations that TWOW is already nearing completion and could be published by 2020. However, others believe that Martin might not be able to complete all seven books of A Song of Ice and Fire and fans will be left with a saga that concludes with Jon Snow being dead and Daenerys Targaryen is captured by the Dothraki. Unfortunately, this would mean we will never learn what Martin's original plans were for ASOIAF so we're hoping that the last two books will be completed really soon.

The Game of Thrones spin-off series is currently in production.
