It's no secret that Star Wars: The Last Jedi has divided the fanbase into two. While some recognized the approach and direction that Rian Johnson was going for, others feel like the movie was just generally bad. Apparently, siding with the latter is The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau and even George Lucas himself.

That is, according to Nikita and Bionic Woman producer Kamran Pasha in a recent interview with Geeks and Gamers. "I do have people who know George Lucas personally and well," he stated. "Who has said to me that he hates The Last Jedi and he is horrified by what's happened."

Pasha says some screenwriters who worked with Lucasfilm told him directly that Lucas "hates" the film. He also revealed that people started talking to him privately about it, including someone who he won't identify. Apparently, this source has "very deep roots inside" of the studio and personal relationships with Lucas himself, claiming that the Star Wars creator thinks The Last Jedi was "soulless."

The producer then emphasized the validity of his source saying, "I don't have the slightest bit of doubt from the source that I got it from whom I know knows Lucas. I know that he knows Lucas."

Aside from Lucas, his other source revealed that Favreau also hated The Last Jedi. Pasha points out that he never revealed this publicly until now, but this source has apparently worked with Favreau on some of his movies and is very close to him as well. "Favreau did not say this to me," Pasha clarified. "And I love Jon Favreau and I hope I'm not burned by a chance to work with him on the future."

Favreau reportedly thought that Star Wars was "out of control" when he initially saw The Last Jedi. He even "actively lobbied" about getting involved in the movie as well, wanting to "save" the franchise because he is a big fan of it.

As always, it's important to note that this is just a rumor, and neither Lucas nor Favreau have confirmed this yet. That being said, there's no doubt that some fans resonated with their comments, especially those who weren't really fond of Johnson's movie.
