Game Of Thrones Star Kit Harington Wanted To Be Harry Potter

Kit Harington might be the broody King of the North in one of the most successful television shows to date, but the Game of Thrones star used to just really want to play Harry Potter on the big screen.

The British actor just recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly during the Toronto International Film Festival to help promote his upcoming movie, The Death and Life of John F. Donovan by art-house director Xavier Dolan (Mommy, It's Only the End of the World). It was there during the event that Harington admitted that he always wanted to be Harry Potter's Boy Who Lived.

"I always wanted to be in a Potter movie. I always wanted to be Harry Potter," the Game of Thrones star told the publication.

Guess that it's just too bad for Harington and his comely looks because Daniel Radcliff has long been the face of the Harry Potter franchise. However, while it seems very unlikely for Harrington to ever play Harry on the big screen, Harington can rest at ease knowing that he's part of a series many consider the biggest show on the small screen. Game of Thrones has been nothing but a television phenomenon, and there's a whole lot of anticipating building up over the eighth and final season of the series that's making its way next year.

Game of Thrones season 8 hits HBO sometime next year.
