Game of Thrones Star John Bradley Addresses Return for Jon Snow Spinoff

Fans wouldn't be able to move on from the terrible finale of the critically-acclaimed HBO show Game of Thrones. Thankfully, several spinoffs will revisit the world of Westeros, one with the upcoming prequel House of the Dragon — which sees the events of the Targaryen Civil War 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones, and the recently confirmed Jon Snow spinoff, which will focus on Kit Harington's King of the North after The Great War.

Now that the Jon Snow spinoff was officially greenlit by George R.R. Martin with the approved title Snow, several stars have spoken about returning to reprise their beloved characters.

Speaking of worthy characters, there is no one more deserving to join the King of the North in his upcoming adventure than Samwell Tarly, Jon Snow's loyal and courageous companion. In a recent interview, Samwell Tarly actor John Bradley finally addressed his return.

"I tend to think about it. I think we all left Game of Thrones thinking that we'd played these characters for so long and they had such a life to them, we'd like to sort of check in with them and see how they're getting on," Bradley told Digital Spy. "We played those parts for so long that as soon as we'd finished, we felt sort of free of them in a way. Because it's a lot of story to carry around and a lot of emotional life to carry around with you. But in the future, who knows? I haven't spoken to anybody about the potential Jon Snow prequel, but if somebody wants to send a script my way I’d be interested to read it."

Game of Thrones fans wouldn't certainly oppose the idea of having Sam again on the Snow spinoff. Amazingly, John Bradley appears to be ready to return to the spinoff, as long as the script is good.

Throughout the eight-season run of the HBO show, Sam remained not only just a loyal follower but also a sincere brother to Jon Snow. The finale didn’t much tell what happened to Sam, and Snow could be the perfect opportunity to continue the character’s arc.

There are also lots of characters who can potentially return in the spinoff, like Brienne of Tarth and, of course, Arya Stark. However, for now, it's still too early to assume which characters will return, especially since Snow is still under early development, and we barely know anything about it aside from it coming from Harington's idea all along.

Game of Thrones is available to stream on HBO Max, while the prequel House of the Dragon will premiere on August 21. Meanwhile, Snow is still under development with HBO.
