So far, it looks like a lot of fans are unhappy about the direction that Game of Thrones Season 8 is treading. Unfortunately, fans might want to prepare themselves because where the series is going is "bloody depressing."
Summary leaks from the final two episodes of the show have found their way online. You can read them here, if you are interested. People who saw them are not at all happy about what's about to go down. In fact, they believe that David Benioff and D.B. Weiss may have botched the ending to what many would agree is one of the greatest television shows of all time.
It would seem that the people brave enough or at least no longer as interested learning what happens next after watching Game of Thrones Season 8 so far, seem to be furious about how the HBO juggernaut lauded for its excellent writing and production quality is bowing down like this.
Upset Game of Thrones took to Twitter to express their disbelief and disappointment. Apparently, the show prioritized shock value over actual storytelling. One user went so far as to say that like being snapped by Thanos, "half the fan base will cease to exist once it's done." Another went so far as to describe it as "worst ending in TV history."
Fans don't like the way characters are treated in Episode 5 and 6. They feel like some did complete 180 that doesn't make sense and that the character development was thrown out the window.
Some fans just want to enjoy the show without being spoiled though. This is a problem that seems to be inescapable since so far, every episode of the season has been leaked in some form before the actual air date.
Is Game of Thrones really going down in flames after such a successful seven-year run? Fans could only hope that these Season 8 spoilers aren't real, seeing they feel more like a "bad fanfiction," as one put it, than anything else.
