Game of Thrones might be coming to an end next year with the smash hit fantasy epic reaching its eighth and final season on HBO, but that doesn't mean that fans are going to stop hearing from Westeros. HBO is working on a few prequel spinoff series based on Game of Thrones, and while many hope for a few familiar faces in the series, the show's lead star Kit Harington confirms that he won't be one of those returning in the new series.
Harrington just recently spoke with BBC News, and during his discussion with the publication, Game of Thrones ever brooding Jon Snow makes it very clear that he's cutting his ties with Westeros once the HBO show comes to an end.
"It was emotional to leave the job definitely," Harington explained during the interview with the news outlet. "But I wouldn't say I was sad: if like me you go all the way back to the pilot of ‘Game of Thrones' that's almost 10 years of your life–that's really unusual in an actor's career. It was a huge emotional upheaval leaving that family. But would I want to go back and do more? Not on your life."
There have been so many heavy and difficult moments in Game of Thrones, not to mention bloodbaths and deaths. Jon Snow himself had been stabbed by his own men in the Nights Watch, only to come back to life thanks to the power of the Lord of Light.
Now, with the dead looming over the horizon, fans can only expect the worst to happen in season 8 of the series. Will Jon survive? Will Dany (Emilia Clarke) make it out alive?

Game of Thrones' eighth and final season is set to premiere April 2019.
