Game of Thrones Actor Talks About Shocking Death: 'I Didn't Know'

HBO's Game of Thrones has shown a lot of deaths throughout the seven seasons but the time Olly and other members of the Night's Watch stabbed Jon Snow in Season 5 is definitely one of the most shocking deaths we've seen.

At the end of Game of Thrones Season 5, fans witnessed Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) get murdered by Olly and a small group of the Night's Watch.

Olly (Brenock O'Connor) stabbed Jon literally in the heart after metaphorically stabbing him in the back.

The scene left many fans devastated, and it looks like Brenock himself was also shocked about the bloody moment.

Speaking to Express.co.uk at the recent premiere of The Bromley Boys, Brenock opened up about the scene.

"I had no idea it was coming until three weeks before because they send scripts two episodes at a time," he said. "But I was like, ‘Wow this is huge and people are going to hate me'.

The 16-year-old actor added: "I'd taken out Ygritte the year before so I was like, ‘I'm taking them all out!'."

He knew that that moment would mean the end of his character. As many fans have seen, Olly was executed with the others for murdering Jon Snow after the King of the North was resurrected from the dead.

Brenock admitted: "I knew when I was coming back - if I was back for season six - there was no way I was going to survive. There was no way those characters could get away with it."

Brenock also talked about filming his character's death in Season 6

"Full body harness, rope around the neck and we dropped maybe 20 times," Brenock said. "I went in at the weekend to rehearse it like 35 times in the day. It was amazing fun. I was like 16 I think."

He added: "Full body harness, rope around the neck and we dropped maybe 20 times. I went in at the weekend to rehearse it like 35 times in the day."

Game of Thrones Season 8 is set to premiere on HBO next year.
