Game of Thrones 8: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Talks the Evolution of Jaime and Cersei’s Relationship

The finale of Game of Thrones 7 had Jaime Lannister leaving Kings Landing to offer whatever help he can to the North. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau talks about his character's development and how the dynamic between Jaime and Cersei has changed over the years.

Coster-Waldau tells Entertainment Tonight:

"We had seven years to build up to this moment where he finally says no to her. His whole life has been about trying to navigate around her and protect her and do whatever he could to do to be there for her. Now, suddenly, he can't do what she wants him to do. She's overstepped her boundaries, and clearly they have been stretching, but this time something snapped."

Out of all the characters in the show Jaime Lannister has probably been the one who has grown the most. We saw Jaime grow from someone who pushes a boy out of the window to an actual noble and caring character. Cersei, on the other hand, has grown more and more despicable.

We don't know where the eighth season will kick off when it starts, but a lot of people are hoping for some great setpieces throughout the season. After all, HBO has allocated a huge budget for the finale, and the fans didn't wait an entire year for an ending to be mediocre.

Game of Thrones 8 comes out sometime in 2019.
