Gal Gadot Shock: DC Actress Says She’s Ready to Leave Wonder Woman Franchise Over Salary Issues


I think we can all agree that Gal Gadot is the definitive modern-day depiction of Wonder Woman on the big screen and let's be real, it's almost hard to imagine any actress other than her playing the role. So far, the Israeli actress has portrayed the part of Diana Prince in four DC Extended Universe projects but did you know that she almost didn't reprise her role in Wonder Woman 1984?

A lot of you may not be aware of it but Gal was only paid $300,000 for her involvement in 2017's Wonder Woman. An incredibly low sum when you think about it especially considering she top-billed the project. On the other hand, it's also quite understandable given the fact that it's her first lead role.

In a stunning revelation, the star of the upcoming Netflix film Red Notice said that there came a time where she was ready to step down as the DCEU's Wonder Woman if Warner Bros. didn't agree with her salary demands. In an interview with Elle, Gal said: "If you look at it like a card game, my hand got better. I was willing to drop the ball and not do it if I wasn't paid fairly."

Say what you want to say about WB but despite the company's bad reputation, it's great that they went out of their way to meet Gal's demands and quite frankly, being one of the actors who carried the DCEU especially during the franchise's darkest times, she definitely deserves to be rewarded big time. Now, we can rest assured knowing that we'll see more of Gal in future DCEU offerings.


As it stands, Gal Gadot is scheduled to return as Diana Prince in Wonder Woman 3.
