FX's Y: The Last Man Series Finds Its New Yorick Brown

It looks like the highly anticipated series adaptation of Y: The Last Man is still happening and it has found its new Yorick Brown. A new report reveals that the FX show has added Ben Schnetzer as its main protagonist.

The casting news comes from The Hollywood Reporter, which confirms that Schnetzer will portray Yorick in the live-action series. Schnetzer will replace The Killing of the Sacred Deer actor Barry Keoghan.

This is exciting news for fans who were concerned about Keoghan's exit from Y: The Last Man. Keoghan, who will also appear as Druig in Marvel's The Eternals later this year, was cast in the role back in July 2018 but decided earlier this month to leave the project. Luckily, FX was able to find an awesome replacement to play Yorick.

Schnetzer is known for his roles in Goat, Snowden, The Journey Is the Destination, Entebbe, The Grizzlies, and The Death & Life of John F. Donovan. He also played the young mage Khadgar in the film adaptation of Warcraft.

The upcoming show, which has been retitled Y, is based on the comic book series by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra. It follows Yorick and his capuchin monkey, who are the only remaining male mammals alive after a cataclysmic event.

The show will also star Diane Lane as Yorick's mother Senator Jennifer Brown, Imogen Poots as his sister Hero Brown, Lashana Lynch as Agent 355, Juliana Canfield as Beth, Marin Ireland as Nora, Amber Tamblyn as Mariette Callows, and Timothy Hutton as the U.S. President. Y has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to premiere on FX later this year.
