Frozen Star Josh Gad Reportedly Cast in Marvel's Wonder Man

One of the MCU shows that is currently in the works is Wonder Man, which finally started production recently in Los Angeles. It will mark the debut of the titular hero in the franchise with Aquaman star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II taking on the role.

We've also been hearing a lot of casting updates on the series including the return of Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery, who we last saw in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and made his debut in Iron Man 3 as the fake Mandarin.

Now, it looks like the MCU series has recruited another cast member to its ensemble as reporter Jeff Sneider revealed in The Hot Mic podcast that actor-comedian Josh Gad, who is known for voicing Olaf in the Frozen films, has joined the cast of Wonder Man.

However, he didn't provide any details regarding the role that he'll play in the series. Neither Marvel Studios nor the major trades have also confirmed Gad's involvement in the MCU yet.

Besides Abdul-Mateen II and Kingsley, Lauren Glazier and Demetrius Grosse are also confirmed to be part of the cast with the latter playing the role of Eric Williams/Grim Reaper, Simon's brother and potentially the villain of the series.

Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton serves as one of the executive producers and is also expected to direct episodes including the pilot while Andrew Guest is the head writer of the series.

Besides his beloved voice role as Olaf in the Frozen films, Gad is also known for playing LeFou in the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast and co-created and stars in the hit Apple TV+ series Central Park. He recently starred in the Peacock comedy-drama series Wolf Like Me.

While we don't know yet what kind of role he will play in the series, it is exciting nonetheless that he will be part of the project and, given his background, there is potential that he will be playing a comedic role. We might hear more details about this in the coming weeks.
