Fans of The Seven Deadly Sins finally have a date to mark on their calendars. That’s because Netflix announced the January release date of the Four Knights of the Apocalypse anime.
Previously, Netflix announced that it would stream this anime which serves as a sequel to The Seven Deadly Sins. Initially, though, no release date was announced.
Finally, fans will need to only wait for two months. The wait isn’t ideal for some though, especially considering that Japanese fans are already enjoying the series.
Four Knights of the Apocalypse Is Now Airing, But Only in Japan
The Seven Deadly Sins is a popular fantasy adventure anime that ended in 2021 after five seasons. Following the anime series’ end, the franchise got several anime films.
Grudge of Edinburgh is the latest of the films, and it’s a two-part movie that was streamed globally on Netflix in December 2022 and August 2023, respectively.
Even though the original manga and anime are now over, fans have more content to enjoy as the Four Knights of the Apocalypse manga got an anime adaptation.
The ongoing manga serves as a sequel to the original Seven Deadly Sins story, though it’s set years after the original story. It also follows new characters.
In Japan, this new anime by Telecom Animation Film began airing on TBS in early October 2023. Currently, the series has gotten six episodes, with the seventh airing on November 26.
Meanwhile, fans outside of Japan still have to wait as Netflix is only releasing the show in early January.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse Gets Netflix Release Date
Netflix has long been the streaming home of The Seven Deadly Sins outside of Japan. Aside from the new movies, all episodes of the first anime series are available on the platform.
Thus, it’s no surprise that Netflix once again holds the rights to Four Knights of the Apocalypse. This new anime will be released on Netflix on January 31, 2024.
As the anime has a consecutive 2-cour schedule, the series will be made available on Netflix in the middle of its run.
Thus, it’ll be interesting to see if Netflix will release only one episode a week, or if the platform will release all the episodes in the first half.
Hopefully, Netflix will release the first half in one go and then proceed to simulcast the anime during its second cour.
