First Mulan Trailer Set For Release Before The Lion King Premiere

It looks like people won't have to wait too long to get a better glimpse at Liu Yifei as the legendary warrior Hua Mulan. A new report suggests that the first trailer for the live-action adaptation of Mulan will finally be released this weekend, two weeks before the premiere of The Lion King.

The report comes from Trailer Track, which reveals that the Mulan trailer is already out there and has been rated by the UK's BBFC. It also confirms that the teaser's running time is one minute and 32 seconds, which could mean that we'll get to see Mulan in action right away. With the trailer already checked and ready to go, it's only a matter of time before it is unveiled.

But when and where will the Mulan trailer be dropped? There are speculations that it could premiere on US TV during the coverage of FIFA Women's World Cup. Some believe that the teaser will air during the championship final on Sunday, July 7.

This isn't the only hint we're getting about the Mulan trailer. Jimmy Wong, who plays Ling in the live-action adaptation, told his Twitter followers that they should probably be watching the World Cup this week.

The film also stars Donnie Yen, Yoson An, Gong Li, Jason Scott Lee, and Jet Li. It is directed by Niki Caro.

Mulan is scheduled for release on March 27, 2020.
