Wizards of the Coast has announced the details for the first Magic: The Gathering Arena Mythic Point Challenge this year.
The highest ranked MTGArena players will compete for Mythic Points in the first Mythic Point Challenge of 2020 this Saturday, February 29, as the 2020 partial season moves on. Starting tomorrow, those who are qualified to play at the Mythic Point Challenge event will see the event in MTG Arena's client. In addition to the Magic Pro League and Rivals League, the top 1,200 Mythic-ranked players in either Constructed or Limited during Throne of Eldraine Season 1 (October 2019), Season 2 (November 2019), and Season 3 (December 2019), or Theros Beyond Death Season 1 (January 2020) will be competing in this event.
The more wins players get, the more Mythic Points they earn in the tournament. Players would need to get at least 5 match wins to get at least 1 Mythic Point, and here's how Mythic Points are awarded:
Earning Mythic Points will help players qualify for the upcoming Mythic Invitational Ikoria this May, and they also contribute to their 2020 partial season standings.
MTG Arena streamers and other players will share their Mythic Point Challenge journey under the MTG Arena game section on Twitch. Some of them may also produce additional recorded content on their YouTube channels after the event.
Here's how to qualify for the next Mythic Point Challenges, according to Wizards of the Coast:
The top 1,200 Mythic ranked competitors from Theros Beyond Death Season 2 (February 2020)—the current season until this Saturday, February 29—will qualify for the Mythic Qualifier in March; and the top 1,200 Mythic ranked competitors from Theros Beyond Death. Season 3 (March 2020) will be eligible for the Mythic Point Challenge this April."
