Warner Bros. has finally released the first Dune trailer and it is spectacular. It does everything you want from a trailer, giving you spectacular shots without context but leaving you wanting more. Whoever edited this trailer deserves a raise since it will leave long-time fans and newbies alike stunned with its awesome music, chosen scenes, and great pacing. Simply put, everyone needs to see this trailer, even people who have never read the book or seen the David Lynch original before.
Denis Villeneuve of Arrival and Blade Runner 2049 fame really shows his stuff here since everything looks so good. Timothy Chalamet is also showing his acting chops here fairly early and has us even more excited for the movie. Add the appearances from everyone else in this all-star cast, including Zendaya, Dave Bautista, Jason Momoa, and more, it's clear that this is going to be a treat.
The final bit, in particular, is pretty memorable. Viewers like yours truly are always amazed when we see giant-looking creatures on-screen so ending with an amazing look at the Sandworm was all you could ask for. It looked massive and like a real threat to everyone involved so here's hoping that the sequence in this movie is just as good.
If this trailer is anything to go by, Dune 2020 is going to be an amazing remake. Having Denis Villeneuve direct this movie was a smart decision and we hope it lives up to our expectations, even though COVID-19 is really annoying about people going to theaters right now.
Dune is currently scheduled for a December 2020 release.
