Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Update on PS4 and PC Adds New Features From Xbox One and Switch Versions

Final Fantasy XII was often considered to be the most underrated Final Fantasy game in the series, so fans everywhere were delighted when the game was re-released on PS4 as Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. This added a bunch of new features that made the game more fun, including a new job system, the ability to speed through battles, and more. The Switch and Xbox One versions were even better, adding the ability to reset jobs and an expanded gambit system.

Well, jealous Final Fantasy XII fans had to wait a while but those formerly exclusive features are officially coming to the PS4 and PC versions. We're going to assume that these features were added to the Xbox One and Switch versions to entice new players to pick them up but we are pretty glad to see these on the PS4 and PC now. No one gets left behind, am I right?

Version 1.08 (PlayStation 4)
  • Job reset function has been added.
  • Gambit system has been expanded to three sets.
  • "OST" has been added under the config menu "Music."
Version 1.0.40 (PC)
  • Job reset function has been added.
  • Gambit system has been expanded to three sets.
  • [Removed 3rd-party DRM "Denuvo Anti-Tamper."]

It's also worth noting that the game is 50% off as part of Sony's Big in Japan sale. If you liked Final Fantasy VII Remake and are curious about the other titles, you can check out The Zodiac Age and a number of other Final Fantasy games on sale. We're sure one of those older games will be remade someday, though I would personally love to see a more fantasy-oriented Final Fantasy XVI.

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is now available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
