Final Fantasy VII Remake Developers Acknowledge the Importance of Silly Mini-Games

Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming out on March 3, 2020, and fans are pretty darn pumped. The game will cover Cloud's original adventure in Midgar so fans expecting all three discs to get remade are out of luck. Still, that doesn't mean Square Enix is acting lazy with this remake, as anyone who can see are in awe of the game's graphics and awesome-looking combat system.

However, fans were more than happy to see how the remake is keeping all of the things that made Final Fantasy VII a silly game and that's not a bad thing. Cloud and his friends still fight giant monsters in the sewers, some of these enemies can turn Cloud into a frog that keeps his Buster Sword, and players will still have to play a push-up mini-game to get a wig so that Cloud can dress up as a girl and rescue Tifa.

It seems like the developers are aware of this, with Yoshinori Kitase saying mini-games like the push-up one are essential to the Final Fantasy VII experience:

"Since we announced the remake, lots of fans of speculated, as to how far we would go in reproducing the elements that made the original great. We put a lot of care and attention into the cutscenes. But the fans of the original also have strong memories of things like the squats too. So even though they are just little mini games, the development team had a huge motivation to do them properly, and remake them in a modern style."

Obviously, fans are pumped to play Final Fantasy VII Remake when it comes out next month and we can't wait to see what the HD version of Cloud looks like in a dress. Seriously, the memes are going to be delightful and this game continues to look fantastic.
