Marvel Studios has proven time and time again how in touch it is with the fans and this year, Kevin Feige finally fulfilled the collective wishes of the MCU fandom when John Krasinski was given the opportunity to play Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Krasinski has long been on the fans' radar when it comes to fantasy Marvel castings and even the actor himself has been lobbying for years to play the "Smartest Man Alive".

His involvement as Earth-838 Mister Fantastic in Multiverse of Madness might have been brief but it was more than enough to convince fans that he should stick around. However, rumor has it that Marvel Studios has no plans of keeping Krasinski on board and that his cameo appearance was just for fan service.

Unsurprisingly, Emily Blunt is also a fan of Krasinski's MCU cameo and if she had things her way, she wouldn't mind seeing him reprise the role in the future. Speaking with HeyUGuys at the London Film Festival, Blunt said that she'd love for her husband to continue playing the character because he's a huge fan of the franchise.

She said: "I was really happy for him because I think he's a huge fan. And I understand why it's such an ardent passionate religion for people. It's a huge part of our cinematic history now. So he was thrilled." When the interviewer said the fandom is hopeful for his MCU future, Emily responded: "Yeah? Well, I hope so. I hope so. You never know."

As it stands, we're still being kept in the dark with regard to the reboot's official cast but if Marvel Studios eventually decides that they want to bring Krasinski back, I'd have no problem with his casting because I think he did a pretty good job with what he was given.

Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four is hitting cinemas on February 14, 2025.
