The final Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald trailer certainly had people talking. The teaser revealed that Claudia Kim's character is actually Voldemort's snake Nagini. In addition to that, the actors who played young Gellert Grindelwald and Albus Dumbledore will reprise their roles in the upcoming sequel.
Jamie Campbell Bower and Toby Regbo have addressed their return to the Harry Potter franchise on social media. Bower shared an article about his character in Fantastic Beasts 2 on Twitter.
Regbo's tease is more subtle. The star of The Last Kingdom shared the trailer for Fantastic Beasts 2 with a cryptic note.
Bower and Regbo appeared briefly in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. Although Regbo was only in a photo, Bower had a fleeting scene as the young Grindelwald stole the Elder Wand from Gregorovitch. Nevertheless, their return in The Crimes of Grindelwald is a welcome one. Hopefully, we will see more of the actors than just a brief scene with the Mirror of Erised.
The return of Bower and Regbo might be great news but things aren't going so well for the reveal about Nagini. Several netizens have slammed author J.K. Rowling for allowing an Asian actress to play the Maledictus who is eventually enslaved by Voldemort in the Harry Potter books. Kim has not yet addressed the issue of her casting. However, Rowling continues to defend the decision to cast Kim as the snake's human form.
The Crimes of Grindelwald also stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, and Johnny Depp. New cast members include Zoe Kravitz, Callum Turner, and Captain Marvel actor Jude Law. Brontis Jodorowsky will play Nicolas Flamel, Dumbledore's ancient friend.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will premiere on November 16.
