Fan-Made Dragon Ball Film Puts Dragon Ball: Evolution to Shame

Of all the bad live-action anime adaptations we have gotten, few are worse than Dragon Ball: Evolution. Say what you will about Ghost in the Shell or Death Note but compared to Dragon Ball: Evolution, they're masterpieces. That's why it's an even bigger disgrace to know that a group of fans in China has made a better film than Evolution.

Based on the Android Saga, we see some of the arc's more memorable moments, like the intense fight between Android 17 and Piccolo, along with the first appearances of Androids 19 and 20. It's essentially a trailer for the arc but it has plenty of promise, definitely more than Evolution ever showed.

As fans can see, some of the costumes and effects are pretty impressive, especially Cell and Piccolo. Some of the characters don't look too accurate but no one really looks like an Akira Toriyama illustration. It's an impressive fan film and should get fans thinking about a live-action Dragon Ball film, even though that's probably a bad idea.

While we won't be getting a live-action film based on the anime anytime soon, there is an animated Dragon Ball Super movie coming out this year. Set sometime after the Tournament of Power, it will introduce a new Saiyan and even give fans some history about the race.

Dragon Ball Super: The Movie comes out on December 14.
