Though the movie had been in development hell for a while, The Flash is finally moving forward with director Andy Muschietti, and WB has finally given us a release date.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Flash is now set to come out in July 1, 2022. If you recall, the movie was originally set to come out back in 2015, but after several director and script changes, it looks like WB has finally found someone who is ready to bring the Fastest Man Alive back on the big screen.

What I'm also excited for is the return of Ezra Miller as the Flash. Though they already recast Batman, it's great that Miller is getting his chance to reprise Barry Allen. Justice League may have been a critical disaster, but there is no doubt that every member was magnificently cast. Each of the members bounced off each other really well, and Miller's Flash came out to be a favorite, seeing as he's the ‘baby' of the group.

With Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, and Ezra Miller staying with their DCEU franchises, I can't help but have hope that we'll get all the original League members back, Ben Affleck included. Besides, it's already been confirmed that The Batman is going to have its own continuity apart from the main timeline, so Affleck has every opportunity to reprise his version of the Caped Crusader as initially planned.

Catch The Flash when it hits theaters July 1, 2022.
