Say what you will about The Flash but the latest DC film is a massive celebration of all things DC, featuring several easter eggs and references from the franchise's rich history.

The film was home to a slew of jaw-dropping moments but it can't be argued that its closing sequences generated the most buzz.

For those who have yet to see the film. The Flash's final scene sees Barry Allen interact with Bruce Wayne who was responsible for clearing his father's name. Much to his surprise, the Bruce who emerged wasn't the one he was expecting (it wasn't even Michael Keaton) and was instead George Clooney's polarizing version of the character.

However, it turns out that WB had other plans in mind before turning to the Batman & Robin star for the mindblowing cameo.

According to Kevin Smith (via Comic Book Movie), Warner Bros. made several attempts to woo Christian Bale into making a cameo appearance in the film but to no avail.

Smith, a massive comic book junkie says that Bale repeatedly rejected the studio's offer which led to George Clooney getting cast in the part. Thankfully, the actor was pretty game to do the cameo despite his first outing as the caped crusader being widely regarded as the worst comic book film of all time.

I think we can safely say that Bale made the call by turning down the cameo offer because The Flash hasn't been performing all that well at the box office and it would have tarnished his Batman legacy.

On the other hand though, his potential involvement in the film would have brought more attention to the project which needed a ton of boost. As for Clooney, despite his minimal role in the film, it almost serves as his redemption so I guess his small cameo was actually worth it.

DC's The Flash is screening in theaters everywhere.
