Euphoria Star Hunter Schafer Joins The Hunger Games Prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes

The Hunger Games Prequel titled The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is rounding up its casting by adding Euphoria's Hunter Schafer. Based on Suzanne Collins' 2020 novel, The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, the prequel will center on young Coriolanus Snow, 64 years prior to the events of The Hunger Games. Just Recently, West Side Story's Rachel Zegler was announced to play District 12 tribute Lucy Gray Baird, while Billy The Kid's Tom Blyth will play Snow.

Alongside the two leads, Lionsgate also unveiled five new casting additions including Jerome Lance as Marcus as a tribute from District 2, Knox Gibson as Bobbin from District 8, Mackenzie Lansing as Coral from District 4, Ashley Liao as Clemensia Dovecote, and Aamer Husain as Felix Ravinstill, who are each District 11 mentors.

Meanwhile, Schafer is set to play Tigris Snow, Coriolanus’ cousin who also serves as his personal adviser. Tigris not only offers advice, but also dictates what Corioalanus' would do, and would surely be substantial in establishing the games.

Hunter Schafer undoubtedly adds another layer of anticipation for the upcoming prequel. Aside from her outstanding performance as Jules in HBO's critically-acclaimed series Euphoria, she is also a civil rights and trans activist in the real world.
