Eternals Set to Premiere Early at Rome Film Festival

There is high anticipation for the upcoming MCU film Eternals. After all, it is directed by Chloe Zhao, who recently won an Oscar for Best Director. It will also introduce a set of new characters that are expected to be major players in the franchise moving forward and have huge implications in the future of the MCU. Before we get to see it on the big screen in November, it will be shown first at an international film festival in Italy.

It has been announced that Eternals is set to be the closing film at the Rome Film Festival. The screening will be held on Sunday, October 24 hosted by Rome Film Fest and Alice nella città at the Auditorium Parco della Musica. It is expected that key talent members from the film will make an appearance during the screening. The film festival premiere will come almost two weeks before the film hits cinemas in North America.

The MCU film will be joining an impressive lineup in the festival that includes the likes of Belfast, The Eyes of Tammy Faye, and Dear Evan Hansen. The festival will honor acclaimed filmmaker Quentin Tarantino and a lifetime achievement award for Tim Burton.

It is impressive that Eternals will make its debut at a film festival and it is believed that it will be the first MCU film to do so. Having the film makes its debut at an international film festival adds prestige to its name and buzz to its awards potential if the film is really as great as it is expected to be. This is a huge sign that Eternals might really be perhaps a terrific film. It is rare to see comic book movies become part of film festival lineups. The last time that it happened was when Joker was in competition at the Venice Film Festival and won the Golden Lion, its top prize.
