The last year has been pretty fruitful for up-and-coming actor Barry Keoghan who turned from a relative unknown to one of Hollywood's next big acting prospects. After making appearances in Marvel Studios' Eternals and DC's The Batman, one would think that Barry has already achieved a sense of fulfillment but it turns out that he's ready for more.

The 29-year-old actor now has his sights set on another major franchise and he has a specific project in mind that he wants to be a part of. According to the Irish actor, he's been trying to get Taika Waititi's attention to cast him in his upcoming Star Wars project and it looks like he'll stop at nothing until the Thor: Love and Thunder director says yes.

Speaking with GQ Magazine, Keoghan revealed: "I'm tryna meet him. I've been askin' everyone." During the interview, Keoghan also discussed his future as Druig and the Clown Prince of Crime and cast doubt on him reprising the said roles. He seems cool about it though and his top priority as it stands would be involvement in a galaxy far, far away.

Details surrounding Waititi's Star Wars film have remained scarce but according to the latest reports, Lucasfilm isn't looking to release new feature films until 2024 at the very least. Hopefully, Taika will be able to redeem himself from Thor: Love and Thunder's mixed reception but considering he's done a pretty good job with The Mandalorian, I still believe he'll nail his next Star Wars outing.

Taika Waititi's untitled Star Wars film is currently in development.
