Eternals 2 Reportedly in Development at Marvel Studios

We're still several months away from the premiere of Eternals but it looks like Marvel Studios is already looking towards the future. A new report reveals that a sequel is already in development and could begin production soon.

The John Campea points out that Marvel is already developing Eternals 2 in anticipation of the first film's release. Interestingly, Campea states that the studio is currently working on several possible sequels including Avengers 5 and a second Eternals movie. He also offers an explanation on why these movies were not announced in the recent sizzle reel.

"They were only announcing those films up to 2023 that have verified release dates. There are over 20+ projects on the board," Campea said. "We all know there's going to be an Avengers 5 and there's going to be an Eternals 2."

It's an interesting thought considering that fans are still expecting another Avengers movie and a sequel to Eternals. However, it may take some time before these projects are announced.

Marvel certainly takes its time before making official announcements. For instance, it was only confirmed that Captain America 4 is in development after the final episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier aired in April. With that in mind, there is a possibility that an announcement will be made soon after the premiere of Eternals. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Eternals is directed by Chloe Zhao and stars Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh, Don Lee, Kit Harington, and Barry Keoghan. The MCU flick is scheduled for release on November 5, 2021.
