Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe may indeed be witnessing a true end of an era as Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson seems to be severing her ties with both Marvel Studios and Disney. Yesterday, the 36-year-old actress filed a lawsuit against Disney, accusing the company of committing a breach of contract in relation to Black Widow's same-day release via Disney+'s Premier Access feature.

Scarlett's camp claims that Disney's decision to make Black Widow available on streaming during the same time as its theatrical run gravely hurt the box office performance of her first standalone film which fans waited over a decade to see. The film was riding a huge wave of momentum during its first week but ticket sales plummeted in the weeks that followed and the main culprit according to them is Disney+.

Scarlett's bold move seemed to have inspired another A-list celebrity who is reportedly planning to follow suit and take legal action against the House of Mouse. According to a scoop from ex-The Hollywood Reporter writer Matt Belloni (via ScreenRant), Cruella actress Emma Stone is also considering filing a lawsuit against Disney for the exact same reason as Johansson.

Much like Black Widow, Emma's 101 Dalmatians spinoff film simultaneously premiered in theaters and via Disney+'s Premier Access last May. At the end of its theatrical run, the film managed to earn over $200 million at the box office which isn't all that bad considering the COVID-19 situation. No other details about Stone's own lawsuit were disclosed but it's safe to assume that the actress is also frustrated with Disney's release model.

Emma's potential lawsuit creates a world of problems for Disney because it pretty much proves that something could in fact be wrong in their system. As it stands, we still have no confirmation whether or not The Amazing Spider-Man actress will indeed be pulling the trigger but if she does, ScarJo just found herself quite an ally.

Black Widow is still streaming via Disney+'s Premier Access.
