Where Have You Seen Emma Canning Before? Movies and Series Explored
Emma Canning is an English actress who has portrayed several roles, both starring and supporting in theatre plays as well as TV shows.
But before getting into who she plays in Masters of the Air, here's more information about Emma Canning's career before joining the Apple TV+ series.
She studied in Guildhall School in the Department of Drama and graduated in the school year 2018-2019.
Her earliest work included directing the play Heart in Cardio, and starring in a couple of stageplays including Aunt Meme in Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Lianne Raleigh in Towers, Mother Teresa/ Mary Magdalene in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, to name a few.
Emma also had a go at theatre acting after graduation and played the role of Judy Sears in the 2022 National Theatre's Trouble in Mind.
Emma also previously dabbled in a writing competition, where she won 2nd place in The Josephine Hart Poetry Prize in 2018.
Emma is best known for portraying Isabelle in the 2021 series The Irregulars, young Antonia in Domina, young Dahlia Archer in Citadel: India, and quite recently, playing Helen in the 2024 series Masters of the Air.

Helen's Role in Masters of the Air Explained
Emma Canning plays Helen, a member of the American Red Cross stationed at Thorpe Abbotts.
Not only is Masters of the Air Emma's fourth major project, but this also marks her first breakthrough starring role.
In the latest episode, Helen catches the attention of Lt. Nash, who asks her for a dance. The most that they shared was when Helen gave him a peck on the cheek and nuzzled into his neck in the middle of the dance.
The day after the party, Lt. Nash tells Helen, "You might be the last pretty face I ever see... and d*mned if you ain't the prettiest."
We'll have to keep watching on to see where Helen's story goes from here.

Masters of the Air follows the men of the 100th Bomb Group (the "Bloody Hundredth") as they conduct perilous bombing raids over over Nazi Germany and grapple with the frigid conditions, lack of oxygen, and sheer terror of combat conducted at 25,000 feet in the air.
