There's no denying that Elizabeth Olsen is one of the MVPs, if not the true MVP of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's divisive Phase Four. From ushering in the Multiverse Saga via WandaVision to her shocking villain role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the Scarlet Witch actress has delivered some of the best performances in the billion-dollar franchise in recent memory.

This is why it's no longer surprising that Marvel Studios has begun its campaign for the 33-year-old star to win her first Academy Award. The 95th edition of the Oscars is only a few months away and the studio has already submitted its "For Your Consideration" list with Olsen included as one of the hopefuls for the Best Actress category.

Her co-star Benedict Cumberbatch is also gunning for the Best Actor nomination while Sam Raimi has been submitted for the Best Director category. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness also joins other 2022 MCU blockbusters Thor: Love and Thunder and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hoping to get a Best Picture nod at the awarding spectacle.

There's been a long-standing notion that comic book films normally don't stand a chance at major award-giving bodies such as the Oscars but we've proven that's not the actual case. However, the track record hasn't been all that impressive but that's not to say that there's no hope for Marvel to reenter the Oscars, especially considering it's already been done before.

As for Elizabeth's chances, I think we can all agree that she gave us a pretty compelling and gripping performance as the Scarlet Witch.

Meanwhile, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is available to stream on Disney+.
