E3: Bethesda Announces Elder Scrolls: Blades for Mobile Devices

Bethesda might be known as a gaming juggernaut on consoles and computers but the same also goes for mobile devices. The company has released Fallout: Shelter and Elder Scrolls: Legends, both of which have done well for the company, with the former coming to consoles tonight. During E3, they announced Elder Scrolls: Blades for mobile devices, which has to be their most ambitious mobile game yet.

Unlike Fallout: Shelter and Elder Scrolls: Legends, which are spin-off titles that focus on shelter micro-managing and card games respectively, Blades will be a full-blown 3D RPG. Like most of the Elder Scrolls games, it will be first-person and players will be able to create their own character.

The RPG will also be free-to-play, just like Bethesda's other mobile games. Bethesda also made sure that the game would be playable on any angle the phone is in, which is pretty neat. Seeing a full-blown Bethesda RPG on mobile devices is an impressive feat and could eventually lead to a console release since Fallout: Shelter is getting one.

Most fans are probably more hyped for The Elder Scrolls 6, which won't be coming out for some time. At the least, players will have this mobile RPG to keep them busy until it comes out. At best, it could be one of the best mobile RPGs of all time.

Elder Scrolls: Blades comes out later this year on iOS and Android.
