Dwayne Johnson Confirms The JSA for His Black Adam Movie

It looks like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's upcoming Black Adam movie just got more enticing. Fans were already excited to see the movie after this year's Shazam surpassed some of our expectations and ended up being a fun kid's movie. But now, the Jumanji actor and former WWE Champion confirmed that the Justice Society of America a.k.a. The JSA will be appearing in the movie.

During an interview with ScreenRant, Johnson played down a future battle between Black Adam and Shazam, stating that it would come eventually, before answering the interviewer's question about the JSA. Well, the interview simply said "JSA is my jam," which led to The Rock saying that we would see the JSA in Black Adam. Awesome.

As most hardcore comic book fans know, the Justice Society of America was the very first superhero group in comics. In later years, the group would be better known as a team of veteran heroes who were also training younger super-powered people to use their abilities better. DC Universe's upcoming Stargirl is also set to introduce this group, so comparisons are going to be interesting.

Considering how good Shazam ended up being, managing to be a solid superhero comedy that felt different from previous DCEU films and Marvel movies, we're all looking forward to Black Adam, which is basically an unofficial prequel. The film is going to be an interesting period film, similar to Wonder Woman and its sequel Wonder Woman: 1984, so that should be worth talking about, especially since The JSA is involved.

Black Adam comes out on December 22, 2021.
