The long wait is over as SBS continues to drop teasers for the much-awaited return of the beloved doctors in Dr. Romantic 3. Headlined by Han Suk Kyu, Lee Sung Kyung, and Ahn Hyo Seop, the sequel welcomes a mix of returning and new cast members.
From cast lineup to release date, all is set for viewers to witness another round of heartwarming stories at Doldam Hospital.
Penned by Kang Eun Kyung of Where the Stars Land and Gyeongseong Creature, Dr. Romantic first aired in 2016 where the 20-part episode K-drama immediately captured the heart of viewers with the interesting story and amazing cast members.
At the time, Yoo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin headlined the season along with Han Suk Kyu, who took the role of Teacher Kim.
In the drama, Teacher Kim was once a well-known city-based doctor who chose to work in a shabby local hospital after he gets caught up in an incident that tainted his name.
This is the reason why he chose to live by his moniker Teacher Kim or Kim Sa Bu, instead of living as Dr. Boo Yong Joo.
Interestingly, after two successful seasons, the hit medical K-drama returns with a slew of familiar faces.
Dr. Romantic 3 Cast
Han Suk Kyu, who plays the titular role will return as Teacher Kim, the iconic surgeon of Doldam Hospital.
One of the possible highlights of Teacher Kim’s appearance in season 3 is building the trauma center in the countryside hospital.
To recall, season 2 ended with the iconic doctor thinking about starting his passion project.
Interestingly, joining him in the upcoming season are Seo Woo Jin and Cha Eun Jae played by Ahn Hyo Seop and Lee Sung Kyungscript-reading. Kim Min Jae.
In addition, the charismatic Nurse Park, played by Kim Min Jae will also participate in the much-awaited sequel.

Joining the list of Dr. Romantic 3 cast are Jin Kyung as chief nurse Oh Myung Shim, Im Won Hee as chief of administration Jang Ki Tae, Yoon Na Moo as ER doctor Jung In Soo, Byun Woo Min who plays anesthesiologist Nam Do Il, So Ju Yeon as nurse Yoon Ah Reum, Shin Dong Wook who plays orthopedics doctor Bae Moon Jung and lastly Bora and Jung Ji Ahn as nurse Uhm Hyun Jung and nurse Joo Young Mi.
As for the new cast, Crash Landing on You actor Lee Shin Young joins the third season as he took the role of the youngest Doldam Hospital doctor Jang Dong Hwa.
Dr. Romantic 3 Release Date
With SBS constantly teasing viewers with intriguing still cuts, Dr. Romantic 3 is scheduled to air this April.
According to the broadcast network, they will release the medical K-drama after Lee Je Hoon’s drama aired the Taxi Driver 2 finale. This means that Han Suk Kyu’s series will air on April 21.
It only means that Dr. Romantic 3 will air every Friday and Saturday via SBS and Viu TV.
