One of the things that make Doona! a successful K-Drama is its dreamy cinematography paired with a beautiful backdrop. This makes the show's avid fans want to board a plane and visit the different Doona! filming locations.
We know that the show takes place in Seoul, South Korea. But where exactly did they film Doona! Here's what we know about the show's filming locations.
Where Did They Film Doona!?
The nine-part series takes place around the same locations that stick to the story's plot. Since the setting of the show takes place near a university, we can expect to see the usual locations: a classroom, amusement park, cafe, and the sharehouse where Doo-Na and Won-Jun live in.
Here are the specific locations included in the show.
Horanggasinamu Hill Guest House
The actual shared house used in Doona! is the Horanggasinamu Hill Guest House situated in Gwangju, South Korea.
It is a multi-level guest house that consists of seven rooms. There are five rooms on the first floor. The second floor is where you can find two VIP rooms. It also has several bathrooms, a living room, a computer room, a kitchen, and access to the rooftop.
On a website, it is revealed that Horanggasinamu Hill Guest House does not receive a lot of guests even though it is famous for being a missionary residence. An estimated 1,000 people visit every year, most of which are artists.
With the popularity of Doona!, this number will likely go up soon! The good news is that you can rent a room in this guest house if you're visiting and want to feel like Doo-Na.
Yang-nim Dong
The neighborhood of Yang-nim Dong was selected as the primary filming location for the scenes in Doona!.
With its beautiful architecture and bounty of cafes, it made plenty of sense why it was chosen as the location for Doona!.
Locals spotted the actors as they filmed their scenes in various locations. One of the locations where the cast and crew of Doona! were spotted in was the Private House of Missionary Wooilseon, which welcomed them as they filmed in the neighborhood.
Gyeongsang National University
Another location where they filmed was the Gyeongsang National University, the University that Won-jun attended. This is also were the Gajwa Campus Basketball Court can be found, which is where they shot the scene that Doo-Na told Won-Jun not to fall for her.

KCON Japan
Although the series is primarily set in Seoul, the finale takes the cast to Japan for the KCON 2022. This is where the fictional band, Dream Sweet, performed for their audiences.
Bae Suzy shot the scenes of their concert in front of a Japanese audience in real time. The attendees of KCON 2022 were shocked to see the former Miss A member perform for them under the fictional band, Dream Sweet.
The audience was also caught off guard when Bae Suzy seemed faint and blacked out during this performance. But shortly after, they realized that it was part of the scene they were filming at the location.
Other Filming Locations
The other filming locations featured in Doona! include the following:
- Wolmi Theme Park, Incheon: A place where Won-Jun got a part-time job and Doo-na frequently visited him.
- Ihwa Mural Village of Ihwa-dong: This is where Doo-Na and Won-Jun would take their late-night strolls after dinner
- Haeundae Beach, Busan: This is where they filmed the beach scenes in the show towards the last few episodes of Doona!
