Apart from Doom Patrol embracing they finally wanted to become superheroes, they first had to embark on a journey to overcome their greatest fears and trauma.

Of course, this goes without saying this would mean facing the inevitable string of deaths along the way.

The long-running Dr. Niles Caulder aka The Chief (Timothy Dalton) had to go soon enough, and he finally died of old age in Doom Patrol Season 3.

The Chief may have been responsible for creating the team of misfits to save the Earth from danger, but his time had come. However, he was later revealed to have been resurrected by salvaging his head.

More major characters had actually faced their near-death experiences in the entirety of Season 3. This includes Robotman, Cyborg, Crazy Jane, and Rita - aka all the main members of Doom Patrol. They each got blasted in the chest with a death ray, leading to their surprising deaths.

However, like what The Chief had encountered, they were all resurrected once they escaped the Tunnel of Souls.

That wasn't the only time they died and got revived, though. There's more to it than you think.

In Doom Patrol Season 3 Episode 4, Robotman, Cyborg, Jane, and Rita are joined by Larry Trainor by getting decomposed from the Night Nurse's vomiting acid on each and every one of them.

Only for later on to have their revive as zombies, and eventually transform back to normal after consuming The Chief's brain.
