Fans who enjoyed Doom and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus on their Nintendo Switch will be happy to know that Bethesda is going to continue giving them games. During QuakeCon 2018, it was revealed that Doom Eternal, the sequel to Doom 2016, will be coming to Nintendo's current console, along with PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Like The New Colossus before it, Doom Eternal will be ported to the system by Panic Button, who did a great job with the previous Bethesda shooter. While not a flawless port, The New Colossus was very playable on Switch and didn't have any game-breaking bugs, making it a quality shooter for the handheld-home console hybrid.
Eternal is a full-blown sequel to the first game, which ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. The game has several new weapons and improved visuals, though not exactly a game-changer compared to the first. Still, Doom was a lot of people's game of the year in 2016 so as the saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it and there's nothing broken about this game.
The sequel also borrows a feature from Dark Souls and lets players control demons so that they can invade other player's campaigns. It's an interesting move to be sure and one that could be a lot of fun or very annoying. Players may want to finish the main game while offline…
Doom Eternal has no release date, though it will come out in 2019.
