Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro, Oshi no Ko Top BookWalker Global Manga Ranking

After the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings were shared in Japan, BookWalker also revealed its own list of top manga. In the BookWalker global manga ranking for 2023, it was Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro that took the top spot, with Oshi no Ko right behind it.

Along with the manga ranking, BookWalker also shared the top 10 most downloaded light novels. As many may have expected, it was Mushoku Tensei who grabbed first place.

Mushoku Tensei Tops the Global Light Novel Ranking

Mushoku Tensei topping the global BookWalker ranking is no surprise given that it’s one of today’s most popular isekai titles.

It also probably helps that its anime adaptation finally returned this year. After all, anime adaptations usually have a big effect on any manga or light novel’s sales.

Meanwhile, here’s a look at the complete top 10 along with the most downloaded volume:

1. Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation – Volume 1
2. So I'm a Spider, So What? – Volume 15
3. Ascendance of a Bookworm: Part 5 – Volume 1
4. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime – Volume 15
5. Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs – Volume 8
6. Overlord – Volume 15
7. Reincarnated as a Sword – Volume 11
8. Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest – Volume 13
9. The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady – Volume 3
10. The Eminence in Shadow – Volume 1

The results here are also expected as the list is dominated by isekai titles that have gotten anime adaptations over the past year or so.

Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro Takes Top Spot in BookWalker Global Manga Ranking

As for the manga ranking, Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro is a bit of a surprise pick for the first spot. The manga is no doubt popular, but, interestingly, it beat other big-name titles this year.

Second on the list is Oshi no Ko's first volume. This is no doubt driven by Doga Kobo’s anime adaptation, which got plenty of attention earlier this year.

Take note that, while this is a global ranking, it’s only based on BookWalker’s data. This means these two rankings aren’t the definitive global bestselling titles.
