Donald Glover On The Lando Star Wars Spinoff Rumors

There's been a lot of love for Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian. Fans couldn't help contain their excitement when the Atlanta star was cast as Star Wars most charming gambler, and even before the film's official premiere, everyone couldn't help but gush over Glover's performance during the global screening of the Star Wars spinoff.

Glover's Lando became so popular that last week, word started circulating that Lucasfilm was considering giving the character his own spinoff and that President Kathleen Kennedy confirmed it in one of her interviews.

Though Kennedy debunked the rumors the day after it came out, fans still can't hope that the studio might give Lando his own film. Besides, Glover really wouldn't mind playing everyone's favorite gambler again.

The Solo star just recently spoke in an interview on the Entertainment Weekly Radio to help promote the upcoming spinoff, and during the discussion, Glover was asked whether he'd be willing to star in his own Star Wars movie.

"It will always be fun to be Lando again. I'd love to do it again, it's really fun," Glover said. "The movie, I feel like, is wide open. This part of the universe. I feel like with the Skywalkers, it's hard because it's almost like the Bible. Like, there's a story that you have to tell of the lineage of that family. I feel like, out here, we're just hustlers and gamblers and space pirates, essentially, so you can do a lot more and have a lot more fun. And I like those movies a lot. I like the comedy of them, the silliness, and also the adventure. I think it would just be fun to do."

One of the many reasons why fans love Glover as Lando is because the Community actor's always been open about his love for Star Wars, saying that he grew up with watching the movies and that he's always been a huge fan of Lando.

We can't wait to see Glover in Solo: A Star Wars Story which premieres later this week, May 25.
