SNL and Star Wars are two things that go hand-in-hand. Everyone still remembers Matt the Radar Technician from way back in 2015, and now a new skit brings Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian to us before the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story.
The premise of the skit actually pokes fun at something the Star Wars universe has been criticized for: Where are all the black people?
The skit has Lando attending a forum featuring all the black guys in Star Wars, only to realize that there's just a few of them hanging around. You even have Kenan Thompson dressed as Saw Gerrera from Rogue One. Glover even does a very Bill Murray-esque move, singing about making love in space.
With a lot of people criticizing Alden Ehrenreich for not being Harrison Ford enough, nothing but praise has been coming the way of Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian. A lot of people thought it was ‘inspired' that he be cast as Lando, and based on what we've seen in the trailers, Glover can give Billy Dee Williams a run for his money.
Catch the smoothest man in the galaxy in theaters when Solo: A Star Wars Story comes out May 25.
