Don Cheadle Reacts to 'News' That He'll be Replacing Will Smith in Suicide Squad 2

Anyone who's been with the MCU since Iron Man will remember that Don Cheadle had replaced Terrence Howard as Rhodey in Iron Man 2. With the news out that Will Smith is not returning for Suicide Squad 2, satire account Le Cinephiles joked that Cheadle would be replacing him. What they didn't expect was to catch Cheadle's attention.

This was how Cheadle reacted:

Cheadle has already found out that the news was fake, and has explained himself on Twitter. What he also found funny was that a lot of people thought he would ruin the movie if he was cast in the role. No offense to anyone, but he's made a great War Machine in the MCU, and no one thought he was a great replacement when it was first announced either.

Cheadle's War Machine was lucky enough to survive Thanos' Decimation, and we're going to be seeing more of him when Avengers: Endgame begins. Based on who survived, it looks like the Russo Brothers want the original roster left to help save the world—the original roster plus Ant-Man.

Adrift in space with no food or water, Tony Stark sends a message to Pepper Potts as his oxygen supply starts to dwindle. Meanwhile, the remaining Avengers -- Thor, Black Widow, Captain America and Bruce Banner -- must figure out a way to bring back their vanquished allies for an epic showdown with Thanos -- the evil demigod who decimated the planet and the universe.

Catch Avengers: Endgame in theaters April 26.
