The Origin and Significance of the Holy Swords in The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy
Before Leonis Magnus awakened from his thousand-year slumber, the world was attacked by Voids, also known as Nothingness.
They are enemies of humanity that suddenly appeared to reduce humanity’s population and push them to the confines of the Seventh Assault Garden.
Not much is known about the Voids, which explains the term Nothingness. They are said to come from a different world, but no one knows who they are or what they want from humanity and the world.
They build their dives deep in ruins, and they attack any humans they see. They come in different types: wyvern, dragon, ogre, and so on. As the Voids appear, so does the emergence of Holy Swords.
The Holy Sword is a type of power humans use to fight the Voids. It comes in different appearances and abilities, depending on the wielder’s personality. These swords are also known as weapons that embody the user’s soul.
Some of the users of the Holy Sword include Regina Mercedes, who wields the Drag Howl, an embodiment of destructive power.
It can change modes, from Drag Howl to Drag Blast, capable of unleashing firepower that rivals a fourth-grade explosive spell.
There’s also Sakuya, who can use the Holy Sword Raikirimaru’s lightning blade that cuts through everything.
There are a lot of different kinds of Holy Swords, and Regina and Sakuya are just two of the strongest in the Holy Sword Academy.
The Holy Sword Academy is located at the center of the Seventh Assault Garden, and it trains and educates those students who manage to awaken their holy swords.
The academy also controls the military, in that they send some students to deal with voids and explore their hives.
Their main objective is to pinpoint the locations of the Voids, all the while aiming to move the Seventh Assault Garden to the sea to beat the Void colonies.

So, Does Riselia Awaken Her Holy Sword?
Yes, Riselia Ray Crystalia awakens her Holy Sword in The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy after she gets acquainted with Leonis Magnus, who turned her into the Vampire Queen.
At first, Riselia has trouble materializing her own Holy Sword, despite being a descendant of two great Holy Sword users. She spent so much time training under her father to prepare herself, but she still can’t awaken her Holy Sword.
This became a reason for some students, like Mussele Rhodes, to bully Riselia. He believes that Riselia is useless, except if she decides to become his woman.
He also thinks that Riselia doesn’t belong to the Holy Sword Academy since she doesn’t have one.
Even Riselia’s maid, Regina, also got her own Holy Sword! She thought that she would be the person to protect Regina, but it was the other way around.
Everything changed after Riselia and Leonis Magnus agreed. While Leonis stays in the Holy Sword Academy, he will do anything to make Riselia stronger now that she has been turned into the vampire queen.
As the Vampire Queen, Riselia is the highest-ranked kind of undead, and her MP surpasses that of any human.
This might have triggered Riselia’s ability to awaken her holy sword. It materialized from the artificial relic that mimics a holy sword during her fight with Muselle Rhodes on the training grounds.
Riselia is still in a state where she can’t handle the enormous amount of magic in her body, but she can wield her holy sword effortlessly with the amazing physical strength of a vampire.
