After almost three years of waiting, the second season of Sweet Home has returned. With its return, an important question stands for avid fans of the show: does Hyun Su die in Sweet Home Season 2?
Before proceeding with this explainer article, we have to give you a heads-up. This article contains major spoilers so if you haven't watched Sweet Home Season 2 yet, skip this portion of the article and come back when you're ready for the answer.
What Happened to Hyun Su After His Fight With Ui Myeong?
The first few episodes of Sweet Home Season 2 start pretty intense. After all, Cha Hyun Su (played by Song Kang) learns that the real Pyeong Sang Wook (played by Lee Ji Wook) has died back at the apartments.
In his place, Ui Myeong (played by Kim Sung Cheol) has taken over Sang Wook's body and wants Hyun Su to join him. After a few punches, Ui Myeong agrees to go with Hyun Su to the military site so they could save the other Neohumans.

As they reach the site, however, the military shoot at their vehicle and cause them to get into a wreck. Hyun Su is able to heal himself while Ui Myeong struggles. As the military take them in, they believe that Ui Myeong has died.
Later, it is revealed that Ui Myeong is still alive but weak. He consumes the life out of Seo Yi Kyung's (played by Lee Si Young) fiance so he can be strong.
When he is able to face Hyun Su once again, Ui Myeong has regained his strength and manages to beat Hyun Su. He stabs Hyun Su with something that turns him into stone. And Ui Myeong manages to escape the facility with the other monsters trailing after him.
At this point, we don't see much of either character in the show. Hyun Su starts to appear in short bits as he rescues Lee Eun Yoo (played by Go Min Si) from monsters. This is after a time jump, which is a year later after the previous series of events.
A series of flashbacks then happens, which explains what happened to Hyun Su, Yi Kyung, and her daughter. But none of the flashbacks explain what happened after Hyun Su and Ui Myeong fought. Hopefully, this will be revealed in the next season.

Does Hyun Su Die in Sweet Home Season 2?
Cha Hyun Su character doesn't appear too much in the second season. But from the series of events in the first season, we already know that his monsterization has started to occur.
Unlike other monsters, however, Hyun-su manages to keep his monster side at bay. He can keep himself human most of the time, until the very last episode of Season 2.
So does Hyun Su die in Sweet Home Season 2 and is his monsterization complete? From the way the show ended, Hyun Su doesn't die in the end. But his monster side has taken control of his body.
We're hoping that he can regain his humanity in the third season since he is the lead of the show. It would be disappointing to have his character get killed off or become evil in the end.
