Metallic Rouge is an original action and sci-fi anime that is no stranger to character deaths. Many have perished in the ongoing conflict between androids and humanity, but does Afdal die in Metallic Rouge?

Who Is Afdal in Metallic Rouge?
Afdal Bashal first appeared in the second episode of Metallic Rouge, along with the journalist Jill and the Nean slave Huey.
He was riding in the same passenger car as Rouge Redstar and Naomi Orthmann on their way to Wellstown, where the biggest Nean settlement on Mars is located.
Naomi took an interest in Afdal and even tried to guess his profession. Afdal exudes a mysterious presence, so Naomi thinks he is working as an assassin for an underground organization or a member of a birding group on Mars.
In reality, Afdal is a doctor who’s always working with human and Nean bodies. He has a Nean assistant named Rion, and he’s more than willing to treat injured Neans who only know about war and the settlement.
When Rouge had an argument with Naomi, Afdal also stepped up to let Rouge enter the Wellstown Nean Community with him, no questions asked.
Unfortunately, Afdal is not the man Rion and Rouge think he is, for there’s more to him than meets the eye.
Afdal’s True Identity in Metallic Rouge Revealed
The fourth episode of Mettallic Rouge revealed that Afdal Bashal’s true identity is Phantom Verde, one of the Immortal Nine whom Rouge and Naomi were trying to find and kill within the Nean settlement.
Afdal was also working with Jaron as an informant to carry out the tasks assigned to him, such as getting into the settlement, monitoring the Council of Free Neans (CFN), and saving some of the Neans.
He was also responsible for the death of Juval 087, the leader of the CFN.
When transformed into Phantom Verde, he releases nerve gas generated within his body and can also fight using illusions.
Through him, we were able to witness the other members of the Immortal Nine who perished against Rouge in the past.
So, Does Afdal Die in Metallic Rouge?
Yes, Afdal died in Metallic Rouge. While Phantom Verde’s abilities overwhelmed Rouge at the beginning of their fight, the latter pulled herself back up and regained her composure, eventually killing Afdal in the process.
Similar to Rouge’s previous fights, her power struggle with Afdal is a must-watch.
Even though it’s short, this fight will surely have a lasting impression on Rouge, who begins to question her existence and purpose.
