The second Doctor Who special is finally coming this April and now we have the full trailer for Legend of the Sea Devils which teases the return of Jodie Whittaker's Time Lord.
The trailer for Legend of the Sea Devils offer a glimpse at what to look forward to this April. In addition to featuring the Thirteenth Doctor and her Companions being at sea, the trailer also offers another look at the titular Sea Devils who were first introduced in Doctor Who back in the 1970s.
Legend of the Sea Devils is the second in a trio of Doctor Who specials that will be airing in 2022. It was preceded by Eve of the Daleks, which was broadcast on January 1, 2022. The third special episode has not yet been announced but is expected to air in Fall later this year.
The official description for Legend of the Sea Devils reads as follows:
"In a swashbuckling special adventure, the Doctor (Jodie Whittaker), Yaz (Mandip Gill) and Dan (John Bishop) come face to fin with one of the Doctor’s oldest adversaries: the Sea Devils. Why has legendary pirate queen Madam Ching come searching for a lost treasure? What terrifing forces lurk beneath the oceans of the nineteenth century? And did Yaz really have to dress Dan up as a pirate?"
The upcoming Doctor Who specials are set to be Jodie Whittaker's final outings as the Thirteenth Doctor but the next actor who will play the Time Lord has not yet been announced. There have been speculations that Hugh Grant is being considered to take on the role as the Fourteenth Doctor but the casting news has not yet been confirmed.
The Doctor Who special Legend of the Sea Devils will premiere on April 17, 2022.
